Amazing facts about Mauritius
Thanks to our tour guide who entertained us all along our trip sharing these amazing facts about Mauritius!
The Nature is your guardian!
Yes, she is secret behind the soft and subtle waves you enjoy at the beaches of Mauritius. The Island is surrounded by thick coral reefs that subside and calm down the waves as they reach the shore, providing natural security from seismic waves that can harm the country and maintaining an ideal water temperature for swimming. You are also protected from sharks and other aquatic animals to ensure a safe swimming.
No poisonous snakes? Really?
It was quiet unbelievable but surprising to hear from our guide that no snakes that are venomous can survive in Mauritius. The soil is uninhabitable to such creatures. You would rather not find any poisonous insects or wild animals in those islands. True or not, but we never found one during our 7 days in Mauritius!
A better Government
The Mauritian government plays much a better role in ensuring even more than the basic needs of a citizen. The Government provides free education from primary to higher secondary levels to all Mauritian citizens along with free public transportation for the students. Medical services is also provided free of cost to everyone in Mauritius. What’s better! And yet another interesting fact is that Mauritius is one among a few countries that doesn’t have a standing army. Undoubtedly a peaceful country with no traces of terrorism or any kind of violence .A complete tranquillity prevailed throughout the island. We were really surprised to see the Parliament of Mauritius with not much security controls, something which can never be seen in many countries.
